Spring and Summer are the seasons for eating an abundance of fruit. There is something special about eating fruit in its proper season that brings health benefits to the body. Trees or plants can be placed in a controlled environment and forced to produce their fruit outside of their season, but that type of fruit doesn’t seem to contain the benefits of a seasonal fruit. Why?
Advancements in green housing or controlling trees and plants with respect to the influences of weather, have evolved to the point nearly any fruit can be grown, harvested and purchased year-round. What is it about fruit in its season that human efforts cannot match?
A tree or plant in its natural environment has exposure to the handy work of the Heavens such as the ebb and flow of chemical elements, electro-magnetic influences that come from the alignment of certain planets, cloud cover, moon phases or starry skies. Human efforts cannot produce or control these Heavenly things that make a fruit what it needs to be for the health of the human body.
So, eat up the fresh, seasonal fruit that is bountiful this time of year. Fruit glaze for pancakes, fruit in a salad, fruit in your oatmeal and fruit smoothies. Whatever your favorite form, be sure to enjoy fruit in its proper season.
Genesis 2:16: And the Lord commanded the man, saying, “of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat…” (NKJ, emphasis added)
This command to eat freely is telling us that consuming an abundance of multiple fruits (“every tree”) is a must. Otherwise, the word command would not be attached to the instruction.
